Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Fearless Rejections ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Fearless mobile application and associated services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our Service, and describes your rights with respect to that information.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access the Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
We collect information you voluntarily provide when you:
- Create an account: Display name, username, email address, and password. If you register using a third-party authentication provider (such as Google or Apple), we receive the information that provider makes available to us in accordance with your settings and that provider's privacy policy.
- Complete your profile: Profile photo, biography, and optional location (city or region level).
- Log asks: The title, category, difficulty rating, status, story, reflection, mood, and any notes associated with asks you create.
- Communicate: Messages, feedback, or support requests you send to us.
- Connect contacts: If you grant permission, we access your device contacts solely to help you find friends already on the platform. Contact data is hashed before transmission and is not stored on our servers in identifiable form.
- Participate in social features: Posts, comments, community memberships, challenge participation, and friend connections.
- Subscribe: Payment and billing information is processed by our third-party payment processor; we do not store full payment card details.
2.2 Information We Collect Automatically
When you use the Service, we automatically collect certain information, including:
- Device information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
- Usage data: Features accessed, actions taken within the app, session duration, and interaction patterns.
- Location data: If you grant permission, approximate geographic location (used to surface nearby ask suggestions). We do not collect precise GPS coordinates beyond what is necessary to generate a geographic area identifier.
- Log data: IP address, access times, pages or screens viewed, and crash reports.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
We may receive information about you from third-party services you connect to the Service, including authentication providers and analytics partners. The information we receive depends on your settings and the third party's privacy policy.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Providing and improving the Service: Creating and managing your account, delivering core features (ask logging, streaks, challenges, social features), and improving functionality based on usage patterns.
- Personalization: Tailoring ask suggestions, coaching content, challenge recommendations, and notifications to your preferences and history.
- AI-powered features: Generating personalized ask ideas and coaching responses. Inputs to AI features may be processed to generate responses; we do not use your personal ask content to train third-party AI models without your consent.
- Communications: Sending transactional messages (account verification, password reset), push notifications you have enabled, and, where you have opted in, promotional communications.
- Safety and integrity: Detecting fraud, investigating reports of prohibited content, and enforcing our Terms of Service.
- Analytics and research: Understanding how users interact with the Service, measuring feature effectiveness, and informing product decisions. Analytics data is aggregated or de-identified where practicable.
- Legal compliance: Meeting our obligations under applicable law and responding to lawful requests from public authorities.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
4.1 Service Providers
We engage third-party companies to perform services on our behalf, including authentication infrastructure, cloud hosting, payment processing, push notification delivery, analytics, and customer support tooling. These providers are contractually restricted to using your information only as necessary to provide services to us and are prohibited from using it for their own purposes.
4.2 Social and Community Features
Information you designate as public or share with friends or communities within the Service (such as public posts, achievements, and challenge results) is visible to other users in accordance with the visibility settings you select. You control the visibility of your asks and profile elements through your privacy settings.
4.3 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of all or substantially all of our assets, or bankruptcy, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change and any choices you may have regarding your information.
4.4 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with applicable law or legal process; (b) protect the rights, property, or safety of Fearless Rejections, our users, or the public; or (c) detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.
4.5 Aggregate and De-Identified Data
We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you for research, marketing, analytics, and other purposes.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legitimate business or legal purposes (such as fraud prevention, financial records, or legal obligations). Aggregated or de-identified data derived from your information may be retained indefinitely.
Specific retention periods:
- Account data: Retained for the life of the account plus 30 days following deletion.
- Ask journal entries: Deleted with your account unless shared publicly, in which case they may persist in de-identified or aggregated form.
- Communication and support records: Retained for up to 3 years.
- Financial and transaction records: Retained for up to 7 years as required by law.
6. Data Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security assessments.
No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify affected users and applicable regulators as required by law.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages.
